Seaford Half Marathon

The Seaford Half Marathon will take place on Sunday 10th May 2020. It will follow the same course as previous years, same friends and helpers and good fun for all!


We look forward to seeing you all at the 2020 run.

All entries are £19  per person.

Refunds against written withdraw requests received before 1st April 2020 will be made subject to an administration charge of £4.

Refunds will not be entertained on withdrawals received on or after 1st April 2020.

Age groups are based on age on raceday.

The Route

A circular route around Seaford and the Downs starting from Marine Parade Seaford. Registration is at the Rugby Club, Salts Recreation Ground, Seaford Grid Reference 478991 OS Explorer 123. (The route stays within the area of this map). Post code for Satnavs: BN25 1DX – park on Seafront.


The route around Seaford takes in some spectacular views over the Weald from the South Downs as well as the beautiful downland village of Alfriston, the Cuckmere Valley and the coast. The route, which is mostly off road, will be marked.


On The Day


There is ample free parking along Marine Parade.

Registration (in Seaford Rugby Club).

A). About 7 days before the race, we will e-mail your registration ticket, (bar code) to the e-mail address supplied at the time of application. Please download to your phone or print and bring this with you. We will scan your registration ticket, to progress you quickly through the registration process, where you will collect your race number.

If you are unable to obtain your registration ticket for any reason, please bring your application e-mail receipt that was issued by our credit card handler “NO CHEX” at the time of application.

B). Registration is open on Saturday 9-May between 12:00 noon and 14:00 and again between 07:00 and 08:45 on raceday. Please consider the Saturday registration to avoid the rush on raceday!

C). Closing date for entries 9th May 2020 at 10pm. NB: entries only via the link above. We will not be accepting on the day or postal entries.

The Race.

Mass start at 09:00.

The route is well signed and marshals will be posted at strategic points. Water stations are situated at various points along the route and biscuits are also provided. There is also a water station at the end of the race.

All entrants are expected to have finished the course by 13:00 hours upon which official timing will end.

Welfare of entrants.

There is limited changing facilities and showers at the Rugby Club.

Public conveniences are available at the following locations: Rugby Club, Seaford seafront (near the Buckle and at the Martello Tower), and in Alfriston village (detour needed ask marshals for direction to car park).

In the case of an emergency entrants are advised to contact the nearest marshal for assistance.

First aid is provided by St. John Ambulance who are contactable through the marshals on the course.

If an entrant is unable to complete the course, transport will be arranged via the marshals to return the individual to the start point.

We would advise all entrants to write their details on the rear of the race bib to aid any medical intervention on the day.

Results and prizes.

Provisional results will be published on our web site by 19:00 on race day. These will be declared final at 12:00 noon on the Wednesday following the race. Please notify any errors prior to Wednesday.

Presentation – There will be a presentation of trophies at the Rugby club at 11:30 (approx) – for individual men/ladies. Age groups, Under 40, 40 – 59 and 60 plus.

The event is open to all runners and will take place whatever the weather conditions. To comply with AAA rules all runners must be 18 years of age. Under 18s are permitted as walkers where an adult (ie the person who pays the entry fee) accepts responsibility for the young person. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult


By entering this event and paying the entry fee you agree to accept full responsibility for your own safety, and that of those whose fees you have paid

No special clothing is required, but be aware that the weather can change quite suddenly up on the Downs and along the coast. Care should therefore be taken to ensure that you have the right equipment.

If you need to retire please do so at a marshaled location if at all possible and transport will be provided back to the start.

First Aid – St John Ambulance will be in attendance throughout the day.

Dogs welcome, but must be kept under strict control at all times.
